Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest in the Puget Sound lowlands and east in the Columbia River Gorge in Washington; southern British Columbia to northern California.

Habitat: Open coniferous forests, rocky outcrops, grassy balds, oak woodlands and meadows from low to moderate elevations.

Flowers: March-May

Origin: Native
